This site was conceived and developed by Jon Hughes. I currently live on Isle au Haut and I hope to remain here until my dying day. The purpose of this site is not to promote tourism on Isle au Haut, it is to simply pay tribute to a place that is unique in the world; a place that by its very existence profoundly changes the lives of many who come here.

It is rare that a place effects a person as this island does. It becomes a part of you, and no matter where on earth you find yourself, the island is always there, waiting for you to return. Life is different on Isle au Haut, unlike life as most of us have come to know and accept it. Spending time on the island tends to inspire a person's creative side; the development of this site is in part a manifestation of that creative urge.
