Elizabeth Rich, affectionately known to Isle au Haut residents as Miss Lizzie, was a lifelong island resident and formerly the town's postmistress. When she passed away in 1988, her home (a part of which was the island Post Office) was relocated just south of town and is now a sort of historical attraction/ memorial. Miss Lizzie was such an integral part of the island community that she merits her own page on this site.
