This small field of flowers is on the southern part of Isle au Haut, inside Acadia National Park. The landscape of the island is given to abrupt changes such as this; a short walk in any of the predominantly spruce forests invariably leads to all manner of vibrant and diverse types of terrain, seemingly at every turn.
