The gravel road leading to the few houses at Rich's Cove. Back in the late 1960s, there was a sign at the beginning of this road that read "Enter at Your Own Risk." As a youngster, that sign instilled in me a feeling of bravery and adventure as my family navigated on a daily basis that oh-so-treacherous 300 yards or so of well-potholed gravel that led from our rented house to the island's main road. As of today, the sign is gone, although the condition of the road is just about as I remember it.
